Dear Parents and Carers
I would like to introduce myself to you as the Chair of our Governing Body, a position I took up in June 2022. I have been a governor since January 2019. I have been a volunteer in the school since January 2018 so I feel I know the school well.
I am impressed by the care, dedication and hard work of all the staff, the support and commitment of parents and the positive response of the pupils. It is a very happy school underpinned by kindness and a desire to see all children reaching their potential. The values of our Catholic faith are demonstrated and lived on a daily basis in school life.
At the time of writing in July 2022, the major challenge for the school next year will be making a smooth transition into a Multi-Academy Trust with several other schools, in line with the policy of the Diocesan Education Service and the government. Governors want to reassure parents the education of their children will not suffer during this period of change. I also want to note that the school continues to recognise the after-effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on our children. I know that staff will carry on supporting them in catching up on the missed aspects of school life.
As Governors, we are very involved with the work of the school, trying to attend school functions and to be a visible presence in the school, promoting its work. Governors are appointed to ensure that objectives are met, that the Catholic ethos remains strong and that planning is both forward-looking and realistic.
We are here to encourage, advise and support the head teacher and the staff in achieving our aims. I am available to parents and carers for any matters relating to the school and can be contacted via the school office.
Yours sincerely
Anne Thompson
