In St Peter and St Paul’s Catholic Primary School’s EYFS unit, we strive to create a welcoming, calm yet stimulating environment for children aged two to five. We encourage children to reach their individual potential whilst underpinning the ethos of our school where we learn, pray and live together in a safe and happy way.
We have three learning spaces where children play, explore and investigate:
We support all seven areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage and Characteristics of Effective Learning through our three rooms by offering indoor/outdoor learning with an additional enclosed playground for the two-year olds, nature garden, a quiet reading den, role-play room and creative area. We offer a range of challenging open-ended activities and a combination of adult led and independent learning opportunities.
As we recognise all children are unique, we make our curriculum accessible to all within our setting by catering to their preferred learning choice. Child-led learning is at the heart of our provision and therefore we offer different opportunities inside and outside to encourage them to find their preferred way of learning.
