Welcome to Year 4 and 5
Our classroom encourages inclusion for all, celebrates success and mistakes as this is how we can learn. We follow our School Mission Statement to "learn, pray and live together in a safe and happy way". We embrace a culture of mutual respect and kindness to others and always try our best!
We have an interesting and varied timetable, please click on the below file to find out more detail.
Our Enrichment topics this year include the following;-
History - Stone Age, Ancient Greece and Benin
Geography - Mountains, Recycling and Europe
Art - Sketching, Painting, Sculpting
DT - Making Stone Age Houses, Greek Masks and Cross Stitch
Please see our Enrichment pages for more information.
The children love parents taking part in their learning journey. Please see our Inspire pages for our most recent parent workshop,
We try and link all of our English work to our topic and science work, this year we will be covering a variety of texts including Roald Dahl's Twits, Stone Age Boy, Wreck of the Zanzibar, Paper bag Prince, Greek Myths and Poetry, Journey and Butterfly Lion.
Our children love Maths. In Year 4 the children have a National Times Table Test in June, so it is really important that the children know all of their times tables. This will really help them as they eventually move on to Year 5/6. Please see our homework pages for links to useful on line platforms.
In Science this year we are learning about Everyday Materials, Teeth, Electricity, Human Impact, Who Am I? and Marvellous Mixtures!
We are very fortunate to be learning to play the Ukulele. We will have a music lesson every Wednesday. Each child is allocated a Ukulele which they will be able to take home to practice . Please return the Ukuleles to school on a Monday in order that they may be tuned in time for Wednesday's lesson.
We have a varied PE provision. Indoor PE is on Tuesday afternoon and outdoor PE is on a Wednesday morning. Please ensure that the children are dressed in the appropriate PE kit and have appropriate footwear.
