Autumn 1
We have so enjoyed having everyone back in school and have had a great half term.
For our enrichment week this half term, we have been learning about The Amazing Americas. Everyone enjoyed finding out about where in the world the Americas are, and understanding that the two continents of North and South America are incredibly varied in their climates, cultures and locations.
Using technology to help us, we located many different countries and capital cities. We even manged to complete an incredibly hard challenge of naming all of the States of America in under five minutes. If you’d like to try follow the link…

In finding out more about locations we discovered the difference that a county’s lines of longitude and latitude can affect its climate and time zone.
One fascinating place we found out about was Death Valley. We compared what it might be like to live in a place like Death Valley to what life is like living in Lichfield and in the UK.
Our art focus for enrichment week was drawing a proportioned face. We used Frida Kahlo as our inspiration and had to use a lot of our patience and perseverance to learn the skills we needed. Once we had finished our pencilled portraits we set to work on creating a frame for our work based on Frida Kahlo’s The Frame. After a lot of hard work, we were all incredibly proud of our final piece of art.

- Find the definition of this key vocabulary "source" and "mouth".
- Complete the worksheet on UK rivers using google maps or any other internet map (or of course an Atlas if you have one at home), this asks you to find the source and mouth of several UK Rivers and any key towns that they flow through.
