Lichfield is an historic and beautiful city with an ancient Christian heritage. St Chad came here 1300 years ago and since then the town has been the centre of Christian life in Staffordshire. With its magnificent Cathedral, which used to house the Shrine of St Chad, it was a famous place of pilgrimage in the middle ages.
